Happy New Year 2013

Today is the last day in year 2012. A year that many people believe to be the end of the world..:). But it didn't happen.

I would like to wish all people in the world..Happy New Year. And I hope in the year 2013 the world will become more peaceful place to live..no war anymore (which is impossible..:) ). And I hope all people will live in harmony..peace..and full of love. Spreading love to the world.

Make tomorrow better than today...be a better person..better citizen and a better Muslim...In Shaa Allah.

Burung Bentet Coklat ( Brown Shrike Bird )

The Brown Shrike (Lanius cristatus) is a bird in the shrike family that is found mainly in Asia. It is closely related to the Red-backed Shrike (L. collurio) and Isabelline Shrike (L. isabellinus). Like most other shrikes, it has a distinctive black "bandit-mask" through the eye. and is found mainly in open scrub habitats, where it perches on the tops of thorny bushes in search of prey. Several populations of this widespread species form distinctive subspecies which breed in temperate Asia and migrate to their winter quarters in tropical Asia. They are sometimes found as vagrants in Europe and North America (Credit to Wikipedia)

These images was taken using Canon 40d and Canon 400mm f5.6L.

Burung Merbah Kapur (Yellow Vented Bulbul)

This photo was taken just outside my dining room window. I set the camera near window and wait for the bird to enter the frame. Normally we can found this kind of bird very often..we can see them around our garden...in open habitats.

The Yellow-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier) is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is resident breeder in southeast Asia from southern Thailand and Cambodia south to Borneo and the Philippines.

It is found in a wide variety of open habitats, but not deep forest. It is one of the most common birds in cultivated areas. They appear to be nomadic, roaming from place to place regularly.

The Yellow-vented Bulbul builds a well-camouflaged but fragile, loose, deep, cup-shaped nest from grass, leaves, roots, vine stems, and twigs. The nest is untidy on the outside, but it is neatly lined with plant fibers. It may be built in a wide range of places from low bushes to high trees. This is a species adapted to humans and may even nest in gardens. The Yellow-vented Bulbul lays 2-5 eggs in February to June.

The Yellow-vented Bulbuls eats berries and small fruits. They also sip nectar, nibble on young shoots, and take some insects

These pictures was taken with Canon 40d and Canon EF 400mm f5.6L.
